This coffee comes from the foothills of Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda, where Norman Mukuru and his team at The Coffee Yard work with farmers across the districts of Sironko, Mbale, Bulambuli, and Kapchorwa. With nearly 20 years of experience in coffee, Norman founded The Coffee Yard as a central hub for processing and drying cherries from the surrounding highlands.
Since 2018, Norman has been specializing in natural processing methods, continually refining techniques to bring out unique profiles. This particular lot underwent an open-tank fermentation, a method that enhances its floral and fruit-forward character. The cherries are carefully sorted, drip-dried, and slowly fermented before being dried on raised beds for around 21 days, then rested and prepared for export.
This bean is the result of a trusted collaboration between The Coffee Yard and quality-focused partners working to ensure full transparency, farmer connection, and vibrant cup quality from Uganda’s coffee landscape.
