My name is Ann. My journey into specialty coffee began when I encountered Geisha coffee from Immaculada Farm, sparking my curiosity with the question, "What is this?" This curiosity led me into the world of specialty coffee.

Later, I came across the Probat UG model, which piqued my interest in coffee roasting even further. I learned that there was much to understand about coffee before the roasting process. Subsequently, I delved into the world of coffee in Korea, with Kalascoffee as my starting point.

I developed a fascination for various aspects, including barista skills, sensory analysis, cupping, pour-over, coffee balance, and more.

As time went on, I shifted my coffee preferences towards Nordic-style coffee, exploring a new roasting style. In Korea and Australia, I appreciated coffee with a balance-centric approach, but Nordic-style coffee introduced me to extremely light roasts and opened up a different dimension of coffee. Subsequently, in Leipzig, Germany, I started the Kalascoffee branch, where I continue to study and immerse myself in the German coffee scene. Currently, I am enjoying coffee as the Head Roaster at GEMI Roasters.
I REMAIN COMMITTED TO LEARNING AND SHARING MORE ABOUT COFFEE, EXPLORING NEW BEANS EACH YEAR.

BARISTA & TECHNICIAN

At the age of 25, I worked with an espresso machine for the first time, a 'Florenzato' brand machine, and I made original Cappuccinos, Giant Macchiatos, and many Galao´s. All of this back then in Hamburg's Schanzenviertel! In 2013, I met my mentor in Bavaria near Nürnberg, Germany, who taught me the art of being a Barista, smoothed my Cappuccinos, and opened the door to pure "Single Origins" and latte art. Today, after many thousands of hours of 'Pushing Coffee,' whether self-employed or employed, restoring or repairing an Espresso Machine here and there, a new desire has formed: I want to learn how to roast coffee!
Thanks to 'Gemi Roasters,' this wish is coming true.
