Jairo Arcila is a third-generation farmer from Quindío, Colombia. He is married to Luz Helena Salazar, and together they have two sons, Carlos and Felipe Arcila, who co-founded Cofinet, a renowned company specializing in the production and distribution of specialty coffee worldwide.
Jairo purchased his first coffee farm in 1987, marking the beginning of his journey in coffee cultivation. Over the years, and with the advice of his sons, who are now recognized experts in specialty coffee production, he has significantly improved his farming practices. These improvements have been particularly significant in the harvesting, sorting, and processing of exotic coffee varieties. Today, Jairo’s farm grows unique varieties such as Pink Bourbon, Java, Papayo, and Gesha across his farms, producing coffees known for their exceptional flavor profiles.
In addition to coffee, Jairo also grows other agricultural products on his farms such as mandarin, orange, plantain, and banana. Jairo enjoys starting the day with a really good breakfast! But most of all, he loves spending time with his family.
